Is Topamax Good for Anxiety Relief?
My DR has started me on Topamax for Anxiety (50mg at night). I see it advertised for Migraines. Does anyone take this and can you offer advice on how it works for you? All I hear is negative and I was hoping this would really help me! Thanks

I worked for a psychiatrist who prescribed Topamax for weight loss and migraines, but never for anxiety. Topamax was originally intended for seizure activity, but when word got out that it helps with weight loss, it became very popular. Some insurance companies will not even authorize it if the patient does not have a proven seizure disorder.

I've heard no-so-good things about Topamax. Look into Buspar (Buspirone).
