Negative emotions (like sadness, stress, anger, etc.) causes your Serotonin production to be low; when your Serotonin level is low, you are more prone to getting Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Depression, etc.
Medication like Antidepressants (SSRI – Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor) helps to boost Serotonin level.
But there are natural ways to do it without medication. There’s this strange herb called “St John’s Wort” – it is said to be more effective than Prozac. No, it is not for mild depression only and ignore those sayings. In fact, it does help anxiety and panic-attacks as St John’s Wort works like prozac. Other natural ways will be exercise, diet, more exposure to light, etc.
The problem is that, even if your Serotonin is balanced… you have that “learned behavior” in your mind. You need to break that initial cycle to destroy that learned behavior – Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) does this. A technique that you can use without CBT will be Distraction… There are several other techniques to help cope them!
Ok, to use Distraction: Firstly, try to….

I personally suffered from extreme anxiety and panic attacks for several years.
I tried everything including mediation, different herbal supplements and therapy. I think with therapy you really need the right therapist and have to stick with it.
I have heard that a lot of people have successfully cured their panic attacks with the Linden Method, but I personally used another program – Panic Away that was much cheaper.
It was the only thing that helped me eliminate the fear for good.

Medication cannot cure panic attacks. At best it can bring some relief, a far cry from a cure.
After nine years of enduring panic/anxiety attacks I came upon the one cure that did it.
The appoach is direct and simple: Learn how not to fear the attacks. In fact, learn how to welcome the next attack and see what happens: Nothing! Try it now. Try to invoke an attack. Try to have a panic attack. You will never succeed. No one can.
Again, the only thing that ever helped me was learning this simple secret: how to stop fearing the next attack.
