Hi, Williams!

I found the information below about how to deal with panic attacks and want to share it with you. Hope it’ll will be helpful.

The tips are:

-Diet
The more balanced your diet the easier it is for your mind/body relationship to feel strong and secure. There are certain foods that are good at building inner calm and other ones that you need to avoid.

-Exercise
Besides the obvious health and relaxation benefits‚ exercise gives you a sample of what it is like to put your body into an exerted state just as if you were having a panic attack. This way you can learn to become comfortable with the heightened state of exertion without fearing that your body will not be able to handle it.

-Distraction
General anxiety is experienced by many people with panic and anxiety disorders. Distraction helps you to retrain your focus and keep your attention on what is going on around you.

-Elimination anxious thoughts
All people who have ended panic and anxiety in their lives have in some way either intentionally or unintentionally re–trained themselves to think in a positive constructive manner rather than negative spirals of anxious thought.

Does anyone know if there is a cure for panic attacks? I have tried many treatments to stop my panic attacks, but none of them worked. If any one can tell me about a treatment that worked for them, please do!

If you have tried many approaches to getting rid of panic attacks, of course I do not know what they were, but I presume you have done some research on what usually works or helps, been to doctors, tried different medications, and worked with a cognitive behavioral therapist.

But the first thing would be to run down a checklist of what you have tried and what the nature of your trial remedies was. There may be something you have tried, but not long enough or in the right way … for all I know.

And then there are the unusual and unexpected causes of panic attacks, or the unusual recipes of health challenges that make diagnosis and treatment more challenging. In the latter case, however, probably you should have seen some positive difference to some method of counterattack. In the former, who knows?

I have read, for example, of one person for whom nothing served to rid of panic attacks except magnesium supplements. Another person could not be rid of depression until black mold was removed (between inner and outer wall, or wherever). Some are hyper sensitive to electromagnetic radiation. Others are more dramatically affected by heavy metal poisoning. (For some of these, removal of mercury alloy fillings improves one’s condition–though I am not sure I have heard of anxiety being a symptom.) How about laundry detergent residue in your clothing? Having an anxiety reaction to genetically modified foods?

In other words, if the usual suspects are innocent, look for the unusual.

In any case, long and careful observation and recording of symptoms, conditions, feelings, possible triggers to panic attacks, and conditions surrounding even temporary improvement is advisable. If you have not practiced deep and slow breathing two to four times per day for several weeks, do that (and during attacks). And see the sources below in case they include something you have not considered.

I noticed drinking a few glasses of WATER really helped. You should remember your symptoms. I’ve noticed certain foods triggered it sometimes also. MSG most likely isn’t something you want in your food either.

Try an elimination diet. You might also have a pinched nerve somewhere.

You might also have blood sugar or other similar metabolism problems.

Check family histories.

As time goes by though, it seems to get worse and it’s getting to the point where i get a panic attack, just by being out anywhere apart from home, before, it used to be just places like malls or restaurants.
I don’t know what to do about it, so i was just wondering if you can help me and maybe give me a suggestion on what to do.

First steps to regaining control of your panic attacks is getting helpful information. This site will give you that, http://myfirstpanicattack.blogspot.com/

You are by no means alone; you’re not even one in a million. In America, it is estimated that almost 5% of the population suffer from some form of anxiety disorder.

I’m getting panic attacks more and more often and I don’t know what to do. I’ve tried a couple of natural techniques (like breathing stuff) but none of it has worked for me yet.

I can sympathize with your plight (as a former sufferer of panic attacks).

You can help yourself more than you think. It takes some dedication to the right techniques though. There’s a lot of misinformation out there about the effectiveness of alternative therapies, breathing techniques, and yoga.

Based on my own experiences, I was able to mostly control my panic attacks using a technique I heard about on the Internet called the "Move" mental technique. It’s a combination of cognitive and behaviorial conditioning that anyone can do.

My friend told me about it and wrote about some of her experiences and successful recovery using the same "Move".

Ten years ago I gave up work and had a family, the time has now come for me to return to some kind of work, but it terrifies me.Obviously partly as i have been at home too long but also as when I worked before I suffered from severe panic attacks brought on by being in a stressful job.I worry that they will return,it took me years to get over them.I dread doing an office job or working in a shop as I think I will get stressed. Can anyone suggest a job to suit, or help in any way?My hubby is fed up and wants me to contribute to the household income.

How about receptionist? I know you might be afraid of seeing different people all day or being ‘on display’ there but I found that helped me. I started having panic attacks after working in a high pressured call centre. I know it doesn’t sounds stressful but it was medical products and we had calls fed through to us every 20 seconds with no break and were talking to people who were really depressed about being really, really ill. That really got to me and I was on edge all of the time. Going into work and putting on the headset just made me burst into tears and start losing my breath and feeling like I was oging to black out. I went to work in a leisure centre on reception. Seeing all those smiling people – families with their kids wanting a swim, old ladies coming to do the pensioners aerobics, everyone saying hello… it made me feel so much more relaxed. Bits were boring just sitting there and the job was far from making the most of my brain, just swiping people’s cards and giving them locker keys but it gave me a couple of years break and I was able to go into being a PA after that as it gave me my confidence back and my brain time to relax and adjust. You could try reception work somewhere. If it’s at a smaller company with less people coming in you might prefer that. Go into reception at wherever you’re thinking of and just make sure the phones aren’t ringing off the hook and the receptionist doesn’t look harrassed though as there’s the odd one where it’s not as chilled out. Also what I liked about working on reception was that you weren’t sitting with lots of people you knew at work so if you didn’t want to talk, you didn’t have to. Just a hello from the customers was fine but sometimes if you are scared of having a panic attack sometimes lingering too long with one person in conversation, your mid can start thinking ‘what if I have one now?’ and you lose concentration which makes it worse. Just ‘Hi, locker key? Have a good visit’ was enough for me, then relax again.

I suffer from severe anxiety and panic attacks whenever I have to give presentations or public speaking. I have been receiving information about the one move technique but everything I look at says you have to purchase. I really can’t afford to purchase anything, but I need to get over my anxiety because it is taking over.

Yes, the One Move technique is part of the Panic Away program. If you can’t afford it go to the library and take a look at a few self-help books for anxiety. You may find that there are other programs like Panic Away in a book format and you can check the book out for free. Books can be a really good resource. But, to overcome this you will have to work at it. No book or program will work without effort.

Just remember that your condition is curable and you don’t have to live with anxiety for good.

I have social anxiety disorder which causes me anxiety and panic attacks on a daily basis. Lately they’ve become so overpowering and frequent that I can’t even leave my apartment (for work, to go to the store, etc). I have tried antidepressants in the past, but they made me suicidal.

I am scheduled to see a psychiatrist but where I live it usually takes weeks of waiting to get in. What can I do?

You should see a hormone expert instead of a shrink, or both………..hormones are at the root cause of panic attacks, many times adrenal glands……..
If noone has tested your thyroid (also a hormone and regulator of hormones) then do that , also
A regular doctor can get a blood test for thyroid, sex, adrenal, cortisol,DHEAS levels and you can take the results to an expert
hormones are at the basis of most mental illnesses……here are some hormone experts like what you need………..
and a free healing method until he retires in march
