28K , pretty decent condition, runs, but trouble starting, think it’s just an issue with the battery
1983 Suzuki GS450GAD
28k pretty good condition
some issues getting it started, was told it was the battery from being stored so long.

You did not mention the year of manufactor. Without that it is impossible to say exactly how much it is worth. you could try www.kbb.com (kelly blue book) as they are the "bible" for used vehicle prices.

Off the top of my head if the bike is in good mechanical conditon with no starting issues and no known charging system problems, and has the usual nicks and scratches I would expect on a bike from the early 80’s I would say $800-$1000

Im just wondering, im not old but one day HOPEFULLY ill live to atleast late 60’s. LOL. But I have panic-attacks and it makes my heart go out of control and pound and pound when I have them. What do they do if someone who is old has panic attacks?

Obviously it could be dangerous to have your heart pounding out of your chest when your older and not young anymore.

I always think about that, so if anyone has any idea what doctors would end up doing, let me know. And hopefully the answer isn’t "Put them in A nursing home" LOL.

With panic attacks it sure does feel as though your heart is pounding out of control. And your body certainly does respond to your anxiety by increasing your heart rate, breathing rate, and releasing a surge of stress hormones. Though it is not actually going to "pound out of control". A healthy heart is built to respond in this manner. Anxiety is your brain’s way of telling your body to get out of harm’s way. This is known as the "Fight or Flight" response. But sometimes the brain thinks we are in danger, when we actually are not. Studies have shown that stress over a lifetime can be harmful to your health, especially your immune system. Though, a lifetime of unhealthy risk factors such as smoking, saturated fat, and not exercising is much more harmful to your heart than are panic attacks. Still it is important now to learn how to handle your panic attacks and incorporate some positive coping skills while you are still young and not in a Nursing home. Haha. Speak to your doctor about the therapies for GAD. It is more widely recognized by the medical community than it was years ago. Therapy for GAD or generalized anxiety disorder can include anti-anxiety and anti-depressant medications as well as counseling and group therapy. If you are still worried about your heart, and you a family history of heart disease, or risk factors such as obesity, it is not too late to make changes. Try to maintain a healthy weight, or lose weight and quit smoking if do smoke, and get regular exercise 3-4 times a week.
Good Luck,
Angie R.N.

I have lamictal, seroquel, xanax. The mix helps but geez which one is slamming me with pounds? The harder I work, the more weight I gain (I am guessing muscle weight). Suggestions? Please don’t suggest anti-depressants, they do not work. Been there already. Thanks for your help

Hey like she said it is the seroquel. I just wanted to tell you that in 2005 I was taking 900mg of seroquel and my GP told me I was obese at 230 and I had to drop 50. His advice was no refined sugar, no refined flour, and low levels of saturated fat. He also said to eat oatmeal for breakfast every day, and not the instant kind. What I did was found some flavorings that had little to no calories like splenda, cinnamon, chipotle, etc. and I ate chicken breast grilled and hardboiled egg whites for protein, 9 servings of fruits and vegetables, a couple slices of whole wheat bread and the oatmeal. I would switch up the spices and the vegetables and fruit so eating chicken everyday didn’t get old. Same thing with the oatmeal. I added different fruits to it and used lots of splenda to make it sweet. It also works to keep a food diary and keep track of your calories. It is ok to eat a 70 calorie piece of chocolate everyday according tho the government’s food pyramid. Anyways, I lost 70 pounds over the course of 18 months and I was on seroquel the whole time, along with ativan, lamictal, and wellbutrin. Hope this helps you because I am sure you can do it to.

I have OCD and I worry a lot. But I’m wondering if that is just a part of my OCD, or if I could have GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder) too?

Before all else, if you haven’t already, have a doctor diagnose your condition(s). After it has been clearly established, take into consideration that despite our conditions and mental disorders, we are all generally capable of serving as functioning members of society. I do not at all mean to undermine your condition, but I just want to warn you. Never let yourself use it as a crutch. Never blame the negativity in your life on a condition. To pity yourself is to waste time. Work to make your situation better. Surround yourself with good, supportive people. Take your time and enjoy life. Loosen up, bud.
