I need help. I have mass tomorrow in school and I always get these anxiety attacks where i feel faint. I’m terrified of passing out or something like that. I’ve been tested and they can’t find anything physically wrong. But what can i do to help with the anxiety?

That is called a panic attack. The person who has one is often fearful of placing themselves in events where it might happen again. Medication would definitely help you; I don’t know who’s been testing you but if it was a doctor, go see a different one who knows what they are doing.

Therapy might also be beneficial, but if you don’t get your brain chemistry under control you can’t begin to work on your cognitive maladaptions.

Get plenty of sleep tonight. Try to eat stuff that’s healthy– foods without much caffine or sugar. Relax. Tell yourself, "I can do this. It’s not a big deal! I’m going to do great!" Think positive. Good luck! ;)

Why dont you tell your parents and see if they can take you to the doctor to give you something…If you start to feel that way just breathe deeply….I have anxiety and it turns into panic because I start to kinda freek out..I hate it and then I have to control my breathing..

    Good Luck~

I know just how you feel. I would go from dr to dr and test after test showed nothing. I felt as though I was loosing my mind. Right after 9-11 I went to another primary care dr and he had me fill out some paper work with q’s on it. Then he came in and talked to me for a while. This was the only dr that took me seriously. He didn’t connect it at all with Sept 11 since I told him I had this problem since I was 15. I was 40 when I saw this dr. So we agreed that I would try Zoloft . It took about 6-8 weeks before I felt like I could walk into a store without feeling like I had to hurry up and run back out to get some air. If you are put on some medication try to be patient, You will not feel real good for a while. Most of my side effects that were constant were no appetite, and being real jittery and tired. But once they subsided I was a totally different person.
