I had an anxiety attack about a week ago and my chest still hurts?

I had an anxiety attack about a week ago and cried veryyy intensely …?
the next day my chest was hurting a lott especially when i would breath in. as if the muscle behind my right boob was sore. It's been a week and if i strain a little it still hurts. Is this normal? will it go away?

Hi love, I had anxiety attacks for quite a while when I was younger and it is fully possible that you have just strained the muscles in your chest, especially if you cried very intensely. It will clear up in a few more days I would think, though you may be sore for a while. Also important is whether you are getting any help or treatment for the anxiety attacks - do you see a doctor or counsellor? If not then pop and see your GP or a GP you trust. All the best to you.

i bought the linden method to help overcome my panic attacks and agoraphobia?

its really helping me so far and i am feeling more confident, its amazing! has any1 else tried it? i just want to be normal and go outside whenever i feel like it without being afraid
well if u read it properly u wud see the question is has anybody tried it before? www.thelindenmethod.co.uk

I'm glad it's working.
I suffered panic attacks and agoraphobia for a few years and gradually recovered using medication (long acting beta blockers) and support from my partner and pushing myself a bit more each day. That was 17 years ago, and I'm now happily married with 2 kids and panic free (apart from 1 thing, I won't go on the London Underground - but as I don't live and work in London, that's OK!).
Good luck, I'm glad there's another solution out there.

How do you stop a panic attack from occuring ?

calmly acknowledge what is happening and get out of the situation causing alarm. once it gets to a certain point it is impossible to stop. there are also some medications that you can take when they first begin. ask a doctor to tell you about the different treatments.

How do I get help for Agoraphobia if I can't leave the house?

I've suffered from Agoraphobia since I was a child. Up until recently it was manageable with a range of distraction techniques, but I was taken ill, and after 2 months of complete bedrest I am now completely unable to face the outside world. I am normally a level headed person, but I have found myself experiencing anxiety attacks, palpitations, uncontrollable shaking and dizzy spells, when only thinking about going outside. I know I need to see a GP, but I just can't face leaving the house, what can I do??

Optimum way to take Xanax for intense GAD?

I'm 21, male, 185cm (approx. 6 feet), 115kg (approx. 250 pounds) and suffering from severe GAD. Would an optimum way for me to take Xanax be 2mg when I wake up and 2mg six hours later? For example, wake up 8am, take 2mg, take another 2mg at 2pm. I hate the idea of taking too many doses throughout the day and I don't think Xanax XR is available in Australia.

Did your doctor not tell you? I have bad Panic Disorder and I only take .5 three times a day. 2 mg would knock me out. You could just test it out and see, but you need to start small, then up the dose as you need it. You'll figure it out before too long, as to what dose you need.

Is Topamax Good for Anxiety Relief?

Is Topamax Good for Anxiety Relief?
My DR has started me on Topamax for Anxiety (50mg at night). I see it advertised for Migraines. Does anyone take this and can you offer advice on how it works for you? All I hear is negative and I was hoping this would really help me! Thanks

I worked for a psychiatrist who prescribed Topamax for weight loss and migraines, but never for anxiety. Topamax was originally intended for seizure activity, but when word got out that it helps with weight loss, it became very popular. Some insurance companies will not even authorize it if the patient does not have a proven seizure disorder.

Medical alert bracelet for panic attacks and anxiety disorder?

i’m in college and i wanted to know if i should tell my professors about my panic disorder and anxiety disorder and wear a alert bracelet
should i tell the counseling center at my college)??
i also have a history of seizures too. i’m only 20 and i feel so bad for having this so young. so what do you think i should do about this?
i live in constant fear of my next breakdown, panic attack, and seizure and it keeps me in fear and it makes my anxiety worse especially in class

You might want to see if there is a center for helping disabled students that could help you determine if you should tell your professors. You might need a medic allert bracelet for the seizures. I would allert the counselling center and a doctor at the student health center. They might be able to help you prevent a breakdown.

how do I deal with my panic attacks in public?

I am a nurse and it is embarrasing when I have panic attacks on the job. I am supposed to be taking care of sick people not the other way around. Any suggestions?

I am a paramedic. At least you know what you are dealing with. If your co workers no also that will help. Just stop go into another room. Your break room and breath relax. Your co workers should understand and also know how to treat it. Is there something that sets them off or is it random. Also you know as well as I do that there is meds out there for this problem. Get it under control. Don't be embarrased, its part of life. Just do the best you can and move on. Good Luck.

What is the best way to get rid of a panic attack?

What is the best way to get rid of a panic attack?

Systematically learn to desensitize yourself to the stimulus that creates the panic. In other words, if you are fearful of dogs, systematically learn to become accustomed to looking at pictures of dogs, then move toward being ok at looking at a real dog from a safe vantage point. Then move toward looking at dog from a safe distance, etc etc.

To help you with this desensitization, learn to relax and calm yourself with deep breathing, and other relaxation techniques .

What can i do to stop my anxiety attacks?

I have severe panic attacks when people throw up. seeing htem throw up, hearing them, hearing about someone puking, anything.

everywhere i go, especially crowded places, im terrified someone is going to puke.

I know they say the best way to stop anxiety is to over come it and face it. but i really dont feel like going and watching someone puke. thats gross beyond gross.

what should i do? im sick of feeling like this.

You should really speak to your doctor about this!… Do you see a therapist?… If not then you should start seeing one on a regular basis, they can teach you some really great life strategies and skills on how to cope better with your anxiety attacks! Just try to relax when you can… When you're home maybe try listening to some relaxation music, close your eyes and just focus on the peace full music, it's kinda like meditating! If you have faith in god or even if you are a spiritual person then praying or meditating in the spirit while doing this can really help! But you should get therapy for this as well!… I hope that helps…Hang in there!
